Celebrating the Graduation of ACTIVATE Change Drivers

We are proud to celebrate the recent graduation of a group of dynamic young individuals from Postmasburg, Groenwater, and Danielskuil, who successfully completed the Active Change Drivers In-Community programme.

ACTIVATE Change Drivers is a multisectoral youth development initiative that has, over the past decade, equipped thousands of young leaders across South Africa with the necessary skills, networks, and tools to drive meaningful change in their communities. Through this programme, youth gain invaluable knowledge and resources to connect, share ideas, and take action in addressing pressing social challenges.

With the support of The Lesedi Solar Park Trust, these young changemakers were given the opportunity to participate in the Active Youth course. Their commitment and hard work have culminated in the successful completion of the programme, and they were recently awarded certificates and gifts in recognition of their efforts. However, their journey does not end here. As graduates, they now become part of the wider ACTIVATE network—a vibrant community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about driving sustainable and positive transformation.

Armed with a deeper understanding of social structures, access to key resources, and a clear roadmap for implementing change, these young leaders are already engaging in their final task—drafting formal proposals to address specific issues in their communities. These proposals outline their envisioned projects, the steps required to bring them to life, estimated costs, and potential funding sources. Once completed, the proposals will be reviewed by ACTIVATE, ensuring that these aspiring change-makers receive the necessary support and guidance to turn their visions into reality.

We are excited about the future of our communities, knowing that these determined, hardworking young minds are rolling up their sleeves to create real and lasting change. We look forward to witnessing the impact of their efforts and remain committed to supporting initiatives that empower our youth to build stronger, more resilient communities.

Congratulations to our newest Activators—we can’t wait to see what you achieve next!
