REAP hosts Career Fairs to Inspire Grade 10 & 11 Learners

Recognizing the important role of Grade 11 year-end results in securing entry into tertiary institutions, the Rural Education Access Programme (REAP) has once again taken a proactive approach by organizing career fairs for Grade 10 and 11 learners, motivating learners to do their best in these upcoming examinations
Last week, the REAP team held career fairs in the Tsantsabane and Kgatelopele communities, bringing together local stakeholders to motivate and guide young learners toward a brighter future.
The Kgatelopele career fair was held at Kuilsville Secondary School and attracted representatives from various organizations, including the Kgatelopele Municipality, SmartStart, Agape, and local mining industry figures. Educators and principals were also present, lending their support to the initiative. Each stakeholder offered encouraging words to the learners, emphasizing the value of diligence and determination, while also sharing personal stories of resilience and success. The event was also an opportunity to celebrate the hard work of learners within the REAP programme.
Similarly, Ratang Thuto Secondary School in Tsantsabane hosted a career fair that saw a diverse group of stakeholders engage with the learners. Representatives from Native Collection, TADS (Tsantsabane Alcohol & Drug Services), The Connexion, Epiroc, JET Education Services, and local educators each took to the stage to deliver motivational talks. The emphasis was on hard work, setting goals, and the many opportunities that await those willing to seize them. To further inspire the students, prizes were offered to top achievers, pending the results of these year-end examinations.
Both career fairs served as a reminder to learners of their potential and the support available to them within their communities. By connecting students with local leaders and professionals, REAP continues to foster ambition and build pathways for future success in these communities. The Lesedi Solar Park Trust continues to support REAP as they assist learners in reaching their full potential.
