Lesedi Solar Park Trust Strengthens Partnerships Through Quarterly Engagement

The Lesedi Solar Park Trust recently hosted its Quarterly Engagement, an important event uniting Implementing Partners under one roof with a singular purpose. The gathering served as a platform for fostering dialogue among partners, emphasizing the importance of unity, shared values, and the strategic objectives of the Trust.

The Trust’s Community Project Coordinator, Kedibone Sebelego, explained the importance of the engagement; “We hold these meetings to ensure that all our implementing partners understand our strategy and how our community works. We use the time to encourage collaboration among all our partners and ensure that we are all aligned.”

At the heart of the engagement was the drive to solidify relationships and reinforce the collective commitment to community advancement. Partners convened to delve into the Trust’s objectives and how each organization contributes to its overarching strategy.

Throughout the event, attendees had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with fellow partners, gaining insights into their respective roles and the collaborative synergy at play within the Trust’s framework.

Central to the Trust’s mission are four key objectives:

  1. Cultivate Community Engagement and Ownership: Empowering communities to take ownership of their development journey lies at the core of the Trust’s ethos.
  2. Enable the Implementation of Integrated Human Development Programs: Through strategic initiatives, the Trust aims to foster holistic development, addressing multifaceted needs and enhancing overall well-being.
  3. Create Opportunities for Economic Participation: By fostering economic empowerment initiatives, the Trust seeks to catalyze sustainable growth and prosperity within the community.
  4. Foster Safe and Enabling Environments: Upholding safety and inclusivity is paramount in nurturing environments conducive to growth and progress.

These Quarterly Engagements will serve as important touchpoints, facilitating collaborative discussions and ideation sessions aimed at maximizing impact and effectiveness. By convening partners on a regular basis, the Trust aims to explore innovative approaches and expand the scope of its community-centric initiatives.

Reflecting on the time, Elvechia Zacharia from REAP said; “Being part of the Quarterly Engagement was very informative; it opened my eyes to all the positive impact Lesedi has on the community of Danielskuil. I would gladly attend these engagements everytime, because it is where we plan and see what works and also what we need to do better in serving the respective communities”.
